NGO Consulting Services for Implementation of RAP of Chameliya – Darchula Road

The organization has provided consulting services to Department of Roads (DoR) GON/Nepal, for implementation of Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) of Chameliya- Darchula Road in Darchula district from December 2000 to June 2004, under Road Maintenance and Development Project (RMDP). The project was supported by World Bank. The overall, task of RDSC in this project was; responsible for assistance the affected communities/persons by road construction during the resettlement and rehabilitation process.

 

Beneficiaries/ Achievement

Activities

  • 2 SPAPs more than 45 PAPs
  • The project has provided the employment to about 400 local people
  • Provided compensation to PAPs
  • Resettlement and rehabilitation of SPAFs
  • All PAPs and SPAPs are engaged in different income generation activities (vegetable production, goat raising, buffalo raising, small business etc.)
  • Socio-economic level uplift and maintaining better livelihood
  • Created local level employment opportunity
  • Formation of 45 Community Based Organization (CBOs)

  Building rapport between company and Project Affected Persons (PAPs) and Severely Project Affected Families (SPAFs) on rehabilitation, resettlement and compensation

  provide counseling service for utilization of compensation to PAPs and SPAFs, which they have been provided

  Need identification of PAPs and SPAFs and provide training on income generation activities (vegetable farming and goat raising) to uplift their socio-economic condition,

  Provide awareness to the labours and their camps about health care and sanitation

  Community mobilization and motivation to PAPs and SPAPs

  • Orientation on HIVAIDS to the labours
  • Social mobilization, mass meetings, personal visit and meeting etc.
