With the financial support of Ministry of Local Development, GON, this program was implemented for Dhami people of Lamikhal VDC – 8, Pidgaun, during the period of August 1995 to July 1996. Sixty men and women of 10 groups of the VDC were benefited. In this program the local people of remote village were trained on Carpet and Doormat Weaving from Vimal (fiver plant) processing and reservoir tank was constructed for reserving the waste water in off time due to scarcity of drinking water within the village.

  • 60 members of 10 group of Indigenous Dhami people
  • 20% of Dhami people are still engaged in such activities
  • 3 to 8 thousand earnings per month from such activities
  • Socio-economic upliftment and maintaining better livelihood
  • Created local level employment opportunity
    • Provide 1 month training on Carpet and Doormat Weaving from Vimal processing
    • Provide materials such as carpet stand, beating paws, scissor etc.
    • Construction of water reservoir tank
    • Facilitating for marketing
    • Social mobilization, mass meetings, personal visit and meeting etc.
